The Pustnik Screenwriters Residency opens call for applications for its 6th edition | 15.06.2020
The Pustnik Screenwriters Residency is always hosted in remote locations, and in the last few years the Port Cetate has been its home on the banks of Danube. Acknowledging that travel and social distancing guidelines will be in flux between now and September, the organisers have worked out an alternative format for an online-only edition. In this case, Pustnik will offer each selected writer a micro-grant of 700 euros, as well as online tutoring from established film professionals.
Regardless of the circumstances, eight screenwriters – two from Romania and six international – will get the chance this year to develop their first or second feature-length screenplays.
In July the successful applicants will be announced as well as the final decision on whether the residency will return to the Danube or be an online-only edition.
- You must be available during the entirety of this edition (7-15 September 2020).
- You must be developing the screenplay for either your first or second feature film.
- Fiction only; no documentary, animation, TV series, web series, experimental or video art.
- You must have a previous screenwriting credit on a short or feature fiction film which has screened at a notable international film festival or had a theatrical release.
Please only apply with one project. If you are a writing duo, please apply together.
All materials must be submitted in English. An advanced level of English is required for all activities.
Deadline: 15 June 2020
